چکیده

We calculate the spectrum of gluons sourced by branching an energetic quark in presence inhomogeneous QCD medium, focusing on soft radiation limit. take into account multiple interactions between partons and matter, treating transverse variations its parameters within a gradient expansion. Thus, we derive general form medium induced up to first order gradients, consider simplifying limits. In particular, show that leading matter gradients using harmonic approximation for scattering potential, full gluon can be written compact closed suitable numerical evaluation. The final momentum tends align along anisotropy direction, resulting nontrivial azimuthal pattern jet substructure.

Induced Gluon Radiation in a Qcd Medium

Soft gluon radiation induced by multiple scattering of a fast quark or gluon propagating through QCD matter is discussed. After revisiting the Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal effect in QED we show that large formation times of bremsstrahlung quanta determine the QCD radiation intensity (in analogy to QED) and derive the gluon energy spectrum. Coherent suppression takes place as compared to the Bethe-...

Pairing in Dense Neutron Matter: The Spectrum of Solutions

The P2– F2 pairing model is generally considered to provide an adequate description of the superfluid states of neutron matter at densities some 2-3 times that of saturated symmetrical nuclear matter. The problem of solving the system of BCS gap equations expressing the P2– F2 model is attacked with the aid of the separation approach. This method, developed originally for quantitative study of ...

Large Angle Hadron Correlations from Medium-Induced Gluon Radiation

Final state medium-induced gluon radiation in ultradense nuclear matter is shown to favor large angle emission when compared to vacuum bremsstrahlung due to the suppression of collinear gluons. In a simple model of momentum transfers from the medium to the jet+gluon system the phase space distribution of non-Abelian bremsstrahlung is examined to first order in opacity. Perturbative expression f...

Causality in dense matter.

The possibility of non-causal signal propagation is examined for various theories of dense matter. This investigation requires a discussion of definitions of causality, together with interpretations of spacetime position. Specific examples are used to illustrate the satisfaction or violation of causality in realistic calculations. Typeset using REVTEX 1
